Workshop Description: Rural Voices Radio
Rural Voices Radio is a series of audio anthologies that feature students and teachers reading their original poems, stories, and essays about the places they call home. Each program is enhanced by local sound effects, music, and narration. Rural Voices engages students in all aspects of writing for a real audience as well as program production in a medium they value. Presenters Ken Martin and Ron Smith share their experience using GarageBand to create programs with students in grades 3-12. Rural Voices Radio is an initiative of the Maine Writing Project and is currently featured on the Maine iTunes U site.
